Forest – Wildernesscat Pal
Meet Forest.
Forest is named after the place we first met: the forest. On one ordinary day while out walking our other cat, we noticed a meowing in the trees. Wandering through the thick forest and relying on our ears to track down the cat of the woods, we gradually located the source of these lonely meows in the big woods. It was a small brown tabby, standing in the underbrush and meowing like her life depended on it. Not knowing whether or not this cat had a home, we carefully watched her over the course of the next few days. This small brown cat just wouldn’t leave. After a few days, we fed her for the first time and the deal was sealed: she was here to stay.

How she lives life to the fullest:
Forest is an affectionate, cuddly cat. She will burrow beneath the bedsheets for a snuggle or hang out inside of your coat. Besides being a warm ball of furry friendship, Forest is a fan of adventure. Forest is an incredible tree climber. She can scramble to the highest twigs in an old larch in the time it would take you grab one branch. She loves scurrying up trees, basking in the sunshine, and once brought home a small rabbit she had killed. Her love of hunting brings us to the next point…

What’s her secret to health?
When you eat a lot of wild animals the way Forest does in the summertime, you are at risk of getting intestinal worms. She wouldn’t give up the hunt for anything, but those little grains of rice on her bum aren’t so pleasant. When we first noticed the worms, we quickly began to incorporate a couple of teaspoons of diatomaceous earth into her food each day. The worms no longer appeared around her fuzzy bum. Today, she continues to supplement her diet with one to two teaspoons of diatomaceous earth as a daily preventative measure.
